A Taste of Love

A Taste of Love

What does it mean to fall in love? At first, the phrase sounds familiar and desirable. We all want to fall in love, don't we? Love – being starry-eyed, giddy, hopeful, and ready for the great adventure. Falling – the sense that you’ve lost control, heading rapidly towards an unknown destination which could quite possibly be painful once you finally land. Like tumbling down a rabbit hole, hoping to experience something wonderful and enchanting, but also feeling the anxiety of being completely helpless as you fall.

Aaah, love.

Wait, that doesn’t seem right. It’s not love that’s the issue, it’s that part about falling. The definition of falling involves becoming less, or lower, descending whether voluntarily or not. That sounds like the opposite of love. Love lifts you up. Contrary to popular energy drink marketing campaigns will have you believe, it's love that gives you wings.

Perhaps “falling” isn’t the right word to describe that moment you experience the most desirable feeling in all of existence. Seems like we need a new way to describe the experience of entering into a state of new and exciting love. Something more intentional, more enjoyable.

Love is a fine wine, a decadent chocolate truffle, a savory dish, a sweet dessert. Love is tasty! If you’ve ever tasted love, you’ve not fallen outside of your control, but instead you willingly stepped up to the plate. You said, I’m ready to embark on this adventure, because it could be the best thing that ever happened to me. You opened yourself up to the joy of experiencing new flavors, comforting aromas, and beautiful colors that are all a part of being in love.

Remember, unlike falling, to taste is to be intentional. It’s a choice you make to experience something wonderful. You have the opportunity to add a little sugar and spice wherever necessary. This means, love isn’t something you give up on if it doesn’t sit just right at first, it’s something you work at, joyfully. Because love is both a gift and a choice.

A gourmet chef has a vision, and they work joyfully to make that vision a reality so you can literally taste the love that they put into every dish. You are the chef, the connoisseur of your life. What is your vision? Do you feel like you’re falling, or are you experiencing life like a gourmet meal, loving and savoring every moment? With your unique vision in mind, what can you do today to intentionally lead yourself towards your desired result, your intended future?

Amour Futur means future love. It means loving yourself in the moment, intentionally, through self-care practices that are aligned with the habits and ideal experiences of your future self.

Who is your future self? Well, it’s whoever you want it to be, but it’s most definitely the best version of yourself you can envision. It’s doubtful that you see your future self as someone who’s exhausted from over working and skipping much needed moments of peace and relaxation. Most of us envision our ideal self as someone who takes time to relax and recharge without feeling guilty about it, because we deserve it.

Does your best self exude confidence and dress to impress yourself rather than others? We believe fashion, and relaxation are two extremely powerful ways to love yourself in this moment, while simultaneously honoring the person you envision as your future self. Building healthy physical, mental, and emotional habits to support your mind and body starting now and continuing without limitation.

Every day, in every experience, just as you give love to others, giving love to yourself is a nod to your future. It says, I care about you. Self-care today promotes positive outcomes tomorrow. So think about your future with starry-eyes and hope for what’s possible. And remember to taste and see that love is good.
